 A world of her own
« Thread Started on Oct 29, 2007, 2:42pm »

Rebecca sat at a small desk in one corner of the library, she had been in her for most part of the morning. A book was open on the desk in front of her, she had been reading it, but had eventually her thoughts had wandered and she was now sitting with her head in her hands watching people walk in and out of the library. Her book was about forest flowers. She didnt know why she had picked it, it wasn't very interesting.

As she watched the door a pretty blonde girl walked through the door, Rebecca recognised her and smiled as she meet the girls eyes.

Elizabeth sighed softly has she followed her mother around the small town. While she loved getting out of the house, she hated having to be with her mother every single step when they went into town. It was nerve racking really. Elizabeth just wanted her mother to allow her the freedom to visit shops on her own. Or even go down the asiles by herself! There couldn't be too much danger in the middle of the day with people out and about!

Finally her mother headed to the library. She had to pick up a book or two for something or other. Elizabeth didn't care what the reason was. She was just glad that they were going to the library. She could borrow a book to keep her mind busy while she was stuck at the house with no chance too get out without a family member going with her.

Rebecca stood up sliding her book into the rack closest to her, not caring if it was the right one. She knew Eliza quite well, they had grown up living next door to each other, and although Elizabeth was a few years older then her they still seemed to get on well

"Goodafternoon Mrs Green" Rebecca said dipping slightly in a curtsie ((sp?)) "Hello Elizabeth" she said smiling, she knew Elizabeth hated having to walk with her mother everywhere

Elizabeth smiled when an old childhood friend came up to the Greens. She had known Rebecca Bolton all her life, or at least every since Elizabeth could remember. Rebecca was one of the few friends her mother had picked out for her that Elizabeth actually liked. She shared almost everything with Rebecca. After Dorian vanished, Elizabeth told her friend of their secret relationship. She had needed someone to talk to. She couldn't handle her broken heart by herself. " Rebecca, tis so good to see you." Elizabeth said cheerfully.

" Miss. Bolton, a pleasure as always." Merissa Green said a pleasent smile on her face. Merissa knew Miss. Rebecca Bolton and her family well. The two had lived side by side for years now. Rebecca, while younger then her daughter, was Elizabeth's best friend.

Rebecca smiled at the two "How have you been Elizabeth?" she asked her friend. She knew that Eliza hated her mother following around, but if Rebecca acted pleasant enough she might be able to go for a short walk with Elizabeth alone.

She looked a Eliza and smiled, he eye said something different though, she was wondering if Elizabeths mother was in the mood to let them off alone for a while. Rebecca eyes flicked to Mrs Green and the back at Elizabeth hopefully.

" I am well, how are you?" Elizabeth answered her friend.Merissa knew Rebecca wished to walk around with Elizabeth alone. While she wouldn't let them walk too far out of her site, she decided to be nice and head over to another isle, where she could still see them, but not hear them. " I'm sure you girls have some things to catch up on. I'll leave you to catch up a bit. I'll be one isle over if you need me." Mrs. Green said with a smile as she turned around and left them.

Elizabeth smiled at her mother's retreating form, then turned back to look at her friend. "I didn't think she would actually leave like that!" She whispered to Rebecca.

"Its because of my charm i suppose" Rebecca said smiling in her im in a world of my own smile "Anything interesting been happening with you lately?" she asked her friend. She hadn't spoken properly with Eliza for a while well at least not without her mother around.

"Give me something to think about, life is pretty boring without the usual dramas to preoocupy my thougts" Rebecca smiled. Elizabeths life always seemed for interesting then Rebeccas ever was.

" I must agree with you then. Your charm works wonders on my mother." She said smiling. " Where were you when I needed you the most!" Elizabeth said dramatically. This morning had been HORRIBLE! Her mother had definately been out looking for suitable husbands at Elizabeth's expense. She sighed when Rebecca asked if anything had been happening with her lately.

" Mother is trying to find a suitable husband for me... Its horrible. She's not got any limits in mind as long as he is suitable! " She said, shivering at the thought of her mother this morning trying to get Elizabeth to return Mr. Wester's flirting words back. She had refused. Mr. Wester was ancient! He was 60 and 4 years old! Elizabeth turned to see if her mother had gone far enough, then finding a seat, she beaconded Rebecca for a more private conversation.

" Have you ever had the feeling you were being watched?" Elizabeth asked her, though not saying thing else until Rebecca answered the question.

Rebecca felt sorry for her friend, forcing marriage was not a nice thing, but Rebecca's parents hadnt started yet, they would for atleast another two years, that should be enough time for Rebecca to fall in love, or atleast find a man she got on with.

Rebecca's thoughts stopped at the strange question Eliza asked, Rebecca was used to people staring at her, either for her families high standing in society or becuase she came across as a little strange. But this wasnt a question of staring it was watching
"No i dont think i have ever been watched" she said frowning "Why?" she asked now very curious.

Elizabeth looked around before she turned back to Rebecca to answer. She didn't know what to say that would explain why she'd asked that question. She bit her lips. " I think someone is watching." She whispered. " Its when I'm alone, in my room at night mostly." Elizabeth said. She looked down. " I was thinking that it could be Dorian, though I know it sounds crazy." She said. She needed Rebecca to tell her that it wasn't possible. Though Elizabeth loved him very much, and she wanted him to be back home, she didn't think it was possible. Not after five years. But her heart was telling her something different. Telling her what she so desperately wanted to hear. To know that was true.
